Family Business Vision

WOW! Creating a vision for your Homeschool family is the most critical part of developing a joyful spirit in the home. Your children want to know the “why?” for their family life. Most children will seek to leave as soon as possible if they do not know the purpose and vision of the family. This is accomplished in both word and deed. The challenge for most men is that they do not have a vision so how can they share this with their wife and family. Proverbs 29:18 is often shared with people about vision. Some may argue the true meaning of this verse, but I can confidently share, that casting the vision is the most important aspect of the family leader. This vision creates the guard rails in life that everyone can operate with! Vision establishes how you approach all aspects of your home.

This applies to establishing work and business strategies as well. I use the following flow when trying to make a decision:

• Vision
• Purpose
• Goals
• Strategy
• Action Items

The challenge is that most men flourish with action items but they struggle with vision. They have clutter in their lives and they cannot fully articulate their family vision and purpose. To be successful at developing a family business, or at least a family work strategy, work on developing the vision. This will lead to purpose, goals, strategy, and finally action items.
