Creating a Punch List

A punch list is a tool in the construction industry to specify any open items that still need completion. This is usually created when the owner and contractor have a final walk of the project and determine that there are items needed. Both parties agree on the list and the action item to complete.

I encourage parents and children to create a weekly punch list to help train children to complete undone items. It is helpful to list out any items that were not properly completed and then give responsibility to the child to complete in the upcoming week. This could be related to work at home, school and other areas of life but will be helpful to mark down those items that were not completed. One of the strong traits in successful entrepreneurs is the ability to start and complete projects. Making sure that all punch items are complete will help build diligence and lead to a successful project manager.
